Saluda Outfitters is growing to help meet the retail and entertainment needs of historic Saluda’s residents and tourists. This month will bring the opening of our full-service bike shop and Green River Eddy’s Tap Room.
Named for the popular and nearby Green River and its eddies that attract whitewater adventurers from far and wide, our cozy log cabin adventure retail store has been renovated to include a tap room with a large outdoor deck. The inside of Green River Eddy’s features a winding bar made from locally sourced hickory and hand-shaped copper that leads to the outdoor deck where there is ample seating and warm fire pits for those cool summer evenings. Many unique touches have been added to the bar and deck, including woodcarvings by local chainsaw artist Ted Travers. You have to visit to appreciate the beauty of this entertainment venue.
The bar will have a minimum of six taps with a selection of more than 40 craft beers from Asheville, Charlotte and Greenville, as well as your favorite domestic beers, wine and munchies. Green River Eddy’s tees, bearing the unique logo designed by graphic artist Chris Wing of H2o Dreams, will be available for sale.
Saturday evening music has returned with live performances each Saturday from 5-8 p.m. on the new outdoor deck overlooking Main and Ozone or from inside the bar area that opens up to the deck. (stay tuned for additional dates and times as the weather warms up.)
This Saturday, April 28, Alex Saunders (of LivinLifeMan fame and a talented musician) will perform from 5-8 on the new deck at Saluda Outfitters that adjoins Green River Eddy’s Tap Room. Saunders recently released an album of his original works called Tumble Weed. To help celebrate the evening, patrons will be given a 10% discount on any LivinLifeMan apparel during the show.
The public is invited to be our guest Saturday, May 12, to help us celebrate the official opening of the tap room with lots of specials, great music and surprises! Second Souls will perform bringing their gritty originals, eclectic covers, rhythms and grooves to the deck! Consisting of a group of rotating musical talents from the local area, including some Saluda residents, you will definitely “get your mojo workin’” with this group. Join us for the official opening celebration of Green River Eddy’s.
